Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose – Mission:
Ecocoast, the global leader in engineered solutions for sustainable coastal and marine development, is looking for a talented and driven Senior Technical Engineer.
The successful candidate will have a deep technical understanding and a customer-first mentality, with the passion and initiative to own and resolve customer issues, provide technical support and advice for the development, testing and deployment of marine products globally.
The role will be a key interface between the sales and engineering departments and will be responsible for ensuring we provide the right product recommendation, estimations and engineering support to the sales team. The role will also involve attending site visits and technical meetings with clients and will lead estimation support and aftersales engagement, engineering fabrication processes support and product development.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for engineering assignments involving the design, development, estimations, customizations, testing, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of marine products.
• Prepare technical documents during tendering and project execution process (Technical offers, Estimations, MAR, Compliance Statements, Drawings, Calculations, etc.)
• Provide well-thought out and reliable technical support and advice on product suitability to the sales team.
• Exceed client expectations on response quality, timeliness and overall customer technical experience with Ecocoast.
• The role will require a problem-solving approach whilst delivering to exacting timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with production to ensure manufacturability and execution of works.
• Provide technical leadership by coaching and directing junior team members.
• Provide assistance and guidance during development of new products and improvement of existing products .
Experience & Qualifications:
• Qualified civil or mechanical engineer.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the marine industry.
• Experience in Technical, Estimation and Sales Support or Design.
• Experience in working with industrial marine products and materials in any of the following fields; Marine Barriers, Coastal Protection, Marine, Aids to Navigation, Plastic/Rubber, Geotextile, Roto-moulding, Automotive, Appliances, and Industrial Products Engineering.
• Experience in fabrication methodologies and systems is an advantage.
• Proven track record in delivering projects focused on value engineering and/or R&D is an advantage.
• Broad knowledge and technical understanding of main materials used in marine environment (steel, PVC/PU coasted fabrics, plastics and geotextile, etc.) gained in the marine or similar industry
• A deep knowledge of our products, their application and performance to efficiently prepare quotations and submittals and make recommendations to our clients and the sales team on the best use and design for Ecocoast products.
• Advanced proficiency with Autocad is a must.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel is a must.
