SVP – Trade Finance
Job Purpose
- As a core and senior member of the leadership team, contribute actively to the overall Trade Finance strategy of the bank
- Achieve overall sales targets, asset and return targets by driving high activity sales calling by the sales team, focus efforts on high potential segments and names
Responsibilities
- Develop an effective control framework that meets Audit, Compliance and Regulatory requirements
- Maintain a culture and environment where processes and controls are continually monitored, and potential risks escalated on a timely basis
- Work within the policy and procedural framework, ensuring knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures are up to date at all times
- Analyze the risk factors and arrange for the appropriate type of amendment whenever it is required
- Drive revenue realization and monitor facility utilization, help remove client roadblocks for the trade sales team to achieve utilization, and monitor overall revenue growth across segments and trade products
- Identify product innovation opportunities and address product gaps together with the Product Management Team through regular client interactions
- Review issuance and amendments of all Trade Finance products
- Leverage team capabilities and develop strong working relationships with all stakeholders across various verticals to leverage skills and knowledge and support origination and referral across key sales corridors
Skills
- Ability to conceptualize, design and implement Management frameworks for the bank that is effective, efficient and fit for purpose
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities based on on-going assessment of the relative urgency of a dynamic/evolving set of deliverables
- Strong working knowledge of risk management principles, practices and processes obtained through direct work experience in a Corporate Risk Management function
